2006 NPD Annual Report - 1st shift anecdotes
2/17/06: A male and female were arrested at 4500 Montgomery Road after buying a quantity of cold remedy capsules. A search of their out-of-state car revealed over 900 more pills. This investigation continued and resulted in the discovery a meth lab in the State of Indiana. Charges of illegal possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs.
2/19/06: Police were called to Surrey Square for a call of male suspect with a shotgun which he took from his trunk and placed in the passenger compartment. Car was stopped in the parking lot and the suspect was arrested. A 12-guage shotgun and ammo were recovered from the car near a two-year-old child. Charges of improper transportation of a firearm and child endangering.
3/1/06: Male suspect arrested for theft and resisting arrest after fleeing Dollar General. Suspect had to be tased when arrested. Officer sustained injuries to his hand while pursuing the suspect over a fence.
4/23/06: A traffic stop in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue resulted in arrest of male suspect for DUS, felony drug possession, trafficking in drugs, and recovery of several bags of drugs and $4,000 in cash.
6/4/06: Female suspect arrested for forgery and the Secret Service was notified after she was stopped at Krogers with the forged check. Recovered from the suspect was stolen ID and $600 in counterfeit money.
6/6/06: Male suspect was arrested for Criminal Enticement at a Cleveland Avenue residence after trying to get a child to come to his vehicle.
7/15/06: All Officers working First Shift assisted in the evacuation of a residence in the 3900 block of Spencer Ave. The evacuation was due to unstable dynamite being discovered in the residence. Cinti. Bomb Squad and other Units from Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded. All involved worked for a safe disposition.
8/9/06: An Aggravated Robbery was reported at Check Smart. After a thorough investigation by 1st Shift and CIS, an employee was charged with theft of $26,000.
11/4/06: A tenacious business owner in the 4500 block of Montgomery Road pursued two juveniles on foot while talking to dispatch on his cell phone. Both were arrested in the basement of a vacant building located in the 2000 block of Mills Avenue. Property worth $190 was recovered.
11/13/06: A deranged emotionally disturbed man was arrested after knocking over merchandise in a Worth Avenue store. After leaving the store, the suspect became disorderly in the street, blocking traffic and disrobing prior to officers arriving. Suspect had to be tased when arrested.
