2006 NPD Annual Report - 2nd shift anecdotes

2/1/06: Officers were dispatched to Fenwick Park to investigate a male white who was suicidal. Officer Ward and Sgt. Rankin arrived and observed a subject sitting in his vehicle holding a knife to his throat. Both officers were able to talk the distraught individual into putting the knife down, and he was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

3/22/06: Officers attempted to serve a warrant at 1818 Cleveland on Darryl
Isbel…who was wanted out of Clermont county on a warrant for Breaking and Entering. He was also suspected of several other break ins. Isbell fled on foot and was caught after a foot chase and K-9 track…

4/23/06: Officer Whitford stopped Langile Lewis…at 4539 Montgomery for a traffic offense. Located in the vehicle was a stolen firearm and crack cocaine. Lewis was charged with Felony Receiving Stolen Property, Weapons Under Disability, and Felony Drug Abuse…

5/1/06: Officers Ward and Lang went to 1941 Elm Ave. They arrested Tina Overbay…on a warrant for Voluntary Manslaughter. They also located drugs, and as a result, she was charged with Felony Drug Possession…

9/4/06: Bennie Taylor…entered the UDF at 3941 Montgomery Rd.; he pulled a knife out and began attacking the employee. He then reached into the cash register drawer and grabbed money. Taylor ran from the scene but was apprehended by officers in the area of Hopkins and Ivanhoe. He was charged with Aggravated Robbery.

9/17/06: A distraught subject barricaded himself in his home at 2012 Delaware. He refused to come out and turned all the gas on in the house bringing the concentration of natural gas in the home to very dangerous levels. Hamilton County SWAT team responded and was able to bring the subject out safely. All officers on 2nd relief did an outstanding job of keeping the residents safe and assisting SWAT…
