Wage increase ordinance for appointed employees

ORDINANCE PROVIDING RAISES FOR APPOINTED EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED

WHEREAS, THIS Council wishes to provide raises for appointed employees; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Norwood, State of Ohio, that:

SECTION 1. Appointed personnel working for the City of Norwood, who are not covered by a Collective Bargaining Unit for the purpose of raises are hereby provided a three percent (3%) raise. This raise shall be effective retroactive to January 1, 2008 and shall apply to both full and part time employees. If an appointed employee’s raises are additionally subject to approval by a commission, board or supervisor, then such commissions, boards or supervisors are hereby authorized to provide up to a three percent (3%) raise if they deem such a raise appropriate.

SECTION 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance and a measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare and shall go into effect forthwith.
